为丰富太和镇学生的文化娱乐生活，提高学生英语口语的学习能力，给学生提供一个展示自我的机会，太和镇教育指导中心开展了初中英语话剧比赛。这项活动得到了广东外语外贸大学实验中学和英语科教师的大力支持，在比赛场地的布置，工作人员的安排上，一切做到了细心、细致。
本次比赛以学校为单位，每间学校派出两个节目。各间学校进行初赛后选送了13个优秀节目参加太和镇比赛。在比赛前，为体现公平原则，组织了各参赛选手代表进行抽签决定比赛顺序。经过评委的评比打分，最终角逐出一等奖三个节目，分别是白云华附的the Emperors New Clothes、广外实验的to Help or Not?以及广外实验的Journey to the west-Beat the Monster for Three Times，二等奖五个节目，分别是白云华附的Mask、70中学的the Sound of Music、穗丰学校的Cinderella、115中学的Tom Sawyer Paints the Fence以及龙归学校的the Daughter of the Sea,三等奖五个节目，分别是太和中学的Little Read Reading Hood、龙归学校的the Little Match Girl、太和中学的Three Lucky Kids、70中学的Fireballs Heart以及115中学的the Emperors New Clothes.
参赛节目中，有经典话剧，有改编的课本剧，还有教师和学生们自创的剧本。比赛中，高潮迭起，掌声雷动；观众席中，有带队的老师、参赛的选手、观看的学生，还有前来加油的家长们；孩子们流利的英语,诙谐的表演，简单的装饰，立意深刻的创意，让在场的评委和观众眼前一亮！/胜利/胜利/赞/赞

龙归学校 The Little match girl
On a cold New Years Eve, a poor girl selling matches on the street takes shelter in a nook and lights the matches to warm herself. In their light, she sees several lovely visions including a Christmas tree and a holiday feast. The girl looks skyward, sees a shooting star, and remembers such stars mean someone is dying. As she lights her last match, she sees a vision of her deceased grandmother, the only person to have treated her with love and kindness. The child dies and her grandmother carries her soul to Heaven. The next morning, passers-by find the dead child in the nook.

白云华附 The Emperor's New Clothes
An emperor who was preoccupied with his appearance and his wardrobe. A pair of swindlers took advantage of this by pretending to be able to weave the finest cloth, which couldn't be seen by people who were either unfit for office or were stupid. The emperor decided to have a suit of clothes made from the fabric in order to test which of his courtiers was unfit for office. As he didn't want to appear stupid or unfit, he pretended to be able to see the new clothes, as did all of his courtiers. He paraded the 'new clothes' through the streets and the onlookers, also not wishing to appear stupid, all admired them. A small child, who didn't understand the apparent necessity for pretence, piped up 'But he has nothing on!'. The bubble of pretence burst and soon all the onlookers were repeating what the child had said, whilst the king continued the procession, attempting to maintain his dignity by pretending that nothing had happened.

广二外 Journey to the West--Beat the Demon for Three Times
Journey to the West is a Chinese classic fantastic novel. It mainly describes a long journey to the Western Heaven to fetch the Buddhist sutras. The main characters of this novel are a monk, named Xuanzang, and his four disciples, named Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing and Yulong Santaizi. When the emperor goes to see his new clothes, he sees nothing at all for the tailors are swindlers and there aren't any clothes.
